    I have used these pliers for turning large cotter pins  1-1/2" & 1-3/4".

    They are heavy and large to use with small cotter pins although it is possible to use them for the smaller joints it is more difficult to get a tight turn. I would recommend the smaller pliers for the smaller joints.
