Grimbald the Goth 10” Bear pattern pack
Grimbald is a goth bear with ideas of steampunk. An original design from Katys Kwilts & Teddy Bears
Pattern Pack consists of Bear Pattern, Top Hat Pattern, foam for hat, black glass eyes and cotter pin joints. I have also included some charms to get you started.
22cm (9”) fully jointed collectors bear. I have added steam punk details to the Top Hat and given him a wizards staff decorated with a dragons head and snakes but these details can be designed and added to your own ideas & imagination. (cogs, feathers etc are not included in this pattern pack)
Materials required to make Grimbald
Included in this pack:
- bear pattern
- top hat pattern & foam, cloak pattern
- 5 x 30mm Cotter pin joints
- 8mm Glass eyes
In addition, the following items will be required:
- 1/8metre 12mm sparse Mohair - black or black on red
- 6” x 9” felt or ultrasuede for paw pads
- 150 grams of polyester/cotton filling
- 150grms steel shot or glass beads for weighting
- polyester/cotton sewing thread
- extra strong thread for eyes
- cotton perle for features

Useful Bear making equipment
Making Bears requires a few items that you may not find in a standard sewing kit so to help you get started I have put together a list of the items you will need.
Bear Making basic tool kit -
- Cotter pin key or pliers for fitting cotter pin joints
- Nut drivers or spanners for fitting nut & bolt joints
- Sharp small scissors for cutting fur & threads
- Long dolls needles for inserting eyes
- Strong thread
- Sewing thread
- Hand sewing needles (curved needle can help in stitching ears)
- Pencil
- Template plastic or card are useful
